Ed Clark for Children

June 23rd, 2018

Ed Clark for Children is a painting workshop inspired by the works + innovative abstract art making techniques of Ed Clark for 8-12 year olds.

The young artists will enjoy a fun art experience led by Lanecia at her studio.
The experience will begin with a 8-minute art history talk about Ed Clark, photos of his works + an exploration of a couple of his at techniques.

After our introduction, the rest of the time the artists will tap into their own creativity-- utilizing some of the techniques shared as they make their very own masterpieces on paper.

This workshop encourages creativity, wonder and PLAY!

Each artist will select 1 piece to exhibit during the Holy Family HTX Public Liturgy on Sunday, June 10 (10:30am-11:30am).

Pizza + water/juice will be provided.

This workshop is free. Donations are welcome.

Space is limited so RSVP today to reserve a spot for your child(ren).

Registration opens Sunday, May 6 at Noon.

How to take the bible seriously but not literally

How to Take the Bible Seriously (But Not Literally)

June 27th - August 8th, 2018

"God said it, I believe it, that settles it."

If you've ever felt that this way of thinking is unsatisfying…
If you've ever felt that this approach cheapens the beautiful thing that the Bible is…
Then we invite you to join us on Wednesday nights this Summer.

Pastor Jacob Breeze will present a new Theological Workshop that will equip you to read the Bible in a way that is at once more serious than you've ever read it and perhaps less literal than you've ever read it.

Mixed Media Collage Tile Art

July 7th, 2018

In this workshop Lanecia of LAR Art Studio will guide you in a time of creative introspection + art making. She will provide you with a creativity prompt to set the intention for your work + the tools you need for your creativity to bloom.

Each participant will create 4 mixed media collage art pieces on clay tiles and learn the process of applying epoxy to the work. The epoxy will create a glass like seal over the work, making them durable for decorative art or functional coasters.

By the end of the experience you will have finished pieces of art that can be picked up/delivered at a later date. The epoxy needs 24hrs drying time.

This is a brave space for all skill levels.

This workshop is free. Donations are welcome.
Space is limited. Registration opens Sunday, June 3 at Noon.
